Serv-U Security
Security has never been more important in file transfers. Serv-U takes this into account and offers you the following.

Site Administration
Serv-U includes numerous tools to help you administer your FTP server. Here's some of the more useful administrator tools:

  • Quotas give you control over how much a user/group uploads and downloads.
  • User defined anti-hammering parameters prevents wasting bandwidth on repeated attempts to connect to your server.
  • Throttling the bandwidth allowed for a user/group lets you assign your bandwidth to higher priority users.
  • Individual bandwidth throttling for different upload & download limits. (NEW in 5.0!)
  • Ratios can be setup for size or files across a single or all session to ensure users upload/download first.

User & Group Administration
Groups enable you to assign directory access rules and IP restrictions to users quickly and with little effort. With Serv-U, you can:

  • Limit the maximum number of users allowed on your FTP server.

  • Have Serv-U automatically delete an account on a specific day (great for temporary accounts).

  • Support for the XCRC command lets you verify the integrity of transferred files. (NEW in 5.0!)
  • Serv-U easily supports computers with multiple IP addresses.
  • The supported "resume" command lets users continue an interrupted upload/download eliminating wasted connection time and bandwidth.
  • Customizable logs let you decide what information is logged for each user on each of your FTP servers. Logs can be rotated never, daily weekly, monthly, or yearly. You can even customize the rotated log file's name!
